Uniqlo, dear Uniqlo. Why have you done a range of Care Bears t shirts? Please tell me why.

I know that it might be kitsch and cute in Japan.

But here? I don't think so. It sends a shudder down my spine. I used to have one, a bear who cares. The prospect of wearing one on a t shirt, unless I was an actual child, seriously grosses me out. As does the thought of other grown ups sporting them.

And before you ask, I had grumpy bear, appropriately enough. The one at the bottom right with the rain cloud on its belly. At least it wasn't a goddamn perky bear, that would really have been too much.
