Carven - Spring/Summer 2013

I have been studiously ignoring all the new spring summer catwalks, because I want to enjoy the autumn winter stuff first, you know?

But I take it all back now that I have seen the Carven show. Aren't these clothes absolute heaven? Swoon!

Blow Your Cover

(Image via Style.com)

Talking of all in ones I also have a massive crush on Topshop Unique's velvet dungarees. I loved dungarees when I was younger and spent as much time as possible in them. But age and experience have turned my heart from them, but as soon as I saw this pair I knew the love wasn't dead, it was just hibernating. I just had to wait patiently for them to be resurrected by those fashion people in the know, declaring them desirable once again and I could step gladly from the shadows and stand up proudly and declare "I love dungarees and I'm proud!". I would so like to do that, but I think my thighs might have other plans...

One(sie) is the Loneliest Number

The onsie for adults seems a little tragic. Just look at poor little Joey Essex here. And I think this proves one thing for certain, the onesie should never be worn out of doors.

But in contrast look how utterly fabulous Rihanna looks in hers.

And it is starting to get really cold at night, and the thought of being all cocooned at night makes me feel all toasty and sleepy just thinking about it. No one would have to see, right?

Plus I probably wouldn't go for a novelty one, just some nice stripes like Ri-Ri. That would be ok, wouldn't it? Oh please say yes...

Night Owl

I am looking for a top to go out in, one that I can wear with my heavenly new cropped black cigarette pants and a sexy pair of black heels, a la Kristen Stewart. One that it is a little saucy while avoiding the streetwalker vibe.

What do you think about this? Quite sweet? Or a bit cheap looking? Satin, you know? It is a tricky beast. Might hot foot it now and try it on...

Up in Arm(les)s

I am quite drawn to this coat by Jigsaw, but really, how practical can a winter coat without sleeves actually be?

Crystal Clear

I love these crystal-studded Chelsea boots by Miu Miu, but I love that Russell & Bromley are doing a version at half the price even more. And I have a pair on hold. Yay!

Hi Ho Silver!

 French Sole

I am warming, increasingly, to the idea of a flat silver shoe for autumn. Far more interesting than black, wouldn't you agree? But also still reasonably neutral and minimalist. So I think they would suit my purposes.

I would also like to draw your attention to an anomaly for Cute or Not Cute, I am recommending something from Next. I know! And no, hell hasn't frozen over, not quite yet. But if it happens again then something seriously wrong is going on and you probably should go for help. But not only do I like something from there I think I might like them more than any of the others.

Will I actually be able to go and purchase something from Next though? We will just have to wait and see. I'll keep you posted, fashion fans...!

Caught by the Fuzz

Would someone mind explaining to me why Marc Jacobs thought that in a world rife with war, natural disasters and financial crises, a sequin and fur lurid pink cardigan was necessary? Because, quite frankly, I can think of no excuse for it.

In Defence of Kristen

(Image via Daily Telegraph)

On one level I would like to defend Kristen Stewart against all the bile that seems to be flung her way at the mo (yes, I know that I am a bit late in talking about this what with Kate "Nipplegate" Middleton being the new scandaaaal). She might have made a mistake but it doesn't make her the devil incarnate and it doesn't make her the most sexually loose woman of the western world. OK?

But on an entirely more important level, how utterly incredible does she look here? Those shoes!!! Yowza! It is such a nonchalant evening look. Super laid back and stylish but those shoes seriously ramp it up a level without making her appear that she has tried too hard. I love it sooooo much. And will instantly go on the rob and try and steal this look from her.

Hit the Road, Jacq

 3.1 Philip Lim

I am crushing really hard on jacquard cigarette cut trousers. Aren't they a delight. A little showy and interesting but not over the top. If I could find a pair that would fit me I would be in them like a shot.
