A Little Bird Told Me

(Via Whistles)

Isn't this just the silliest thing? A sweet little bird ring. But wonderful too. I think I must have it. I deserve a treat, right?!

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

(Via Daily Telegraph)

I'm really feeling the pencil combined with a sweater. Nice going Stella. I'm definitely going to rock this look. Plus the blue is super chic.

Less is Morrell

Have you seen this girl? Her name is Sojourner Morrell. Already pretty cool, no?

She was one of the first women to be accepted by the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. And is now a model.

Vogue featured her in a spread, and I think she is pretty incredible.

Great hair, great boyish look.

More of the same please!

Needle in a Haystack

(Via Net a Porter)

It's finally happened! It's love! I have lost my heart to the Pamela Love porcupine needle ring.

Isn't it the most?

Plus it will come in handy if I'm ever involved in some fisticuffs. I could have someone's eye out with that.

Flat Out

I am feeling the masculine flat shoe. Even though I can't really rock the masculine look. But a shoe? A shoe is a little bite sized amount of masculine, and I think I could deal with that.

But I draw the line at brothel creepers. Because they're gross.

A Little Bit Country

When it comes to my personal style, I don't think Navajo or prairie girl really come to mind.

But I'm really lusting after the former at Isabel Marant and the latter at Rodarte. Particuarly Rodarte, I have to say. Which wouldn't be too much of a stretch for me and my femmy look.

And hopefully the high street will be able to offer something at some stage. Because at the moment all I can find is this sweater from River Island. Which isn't especially inspiring.

Slim Pickings

Dude! If the D of C isn't thin enough then what hope do the rest of us have?

When I saw that Grazia had made her thinner on their cover I was a bit horrified.

(Via Daily Telegraph)

But after getting a sharp telling off by the Press Complaints Commission they said that her thinification was a purely accidental result of mirroring her other arm so that it looked as though she was alone, and not holding the hand of her beloved.

So that's a relief. (If we believe them.)

A Nest of Vipers

I have slowly come round to animal print. Specifically the leopard. Now I'm truly a convert.

In moderation.

You know, a scarf. A cardigan. Not really all over. (Although I do have that fabulous bright purple one shouldered number that I love.)

(Via Style.com)

But snakeskin? I'm not quite sure. In a shoe? Yes, it can be lovely. But on an item of clothing? All over? That just seems a bit much to me. But these Chloe dresses are heaven. With that 70s vibe it doesn't seem trashy at all. In fact I think I quite like it.

(Via Whistles)

And it even exists in real life! Wa-hey! Whistles have this "viper" print (the name alone gives me chills) which is super cute. But with the shape it is really only suitable for work, but could you actually wear it for work? Is the working world ready for all out viperdom? I do hope so, because I am.

Touch Base

I once saw Nicole Farhi and David Hare in a restaurant. I was beside myself with excitement but I don't think anyone else really noticed (even with her magnificent mane of hair) and I'm sure they quite preferred it that way.

But anecdotes aside, I am once again excited by Ms Farhi. Have you seen the interesting textures at work for her a/w? This red skirt almost seems to have been fashioned from bright red boiled sweets melted together haphazardly, or some kind of lava, set (most conveniently) in a delightful skirt shape.

I'm not quite sure how they have been achieved or what they are made out of. But I know I like it.

It's so rare to see something so completely new and unexpected.

Particularly from a designer who produces clothes that, while beautiful, are more often characterised by being grown up and wearable than being revolutionary.

And I have to say I am quite won over by it.

All Hands to the Pump(kin)

Have I ever told you how much I hate a black handbag? I think they often look cheap, plus they are just the dullest thing ever. Like black trousers. Bleurgh!

(Via Reiss)

And this season it seems that I have back up, because pumpkin seems to be having a moment.

(Via Shopstyle)

I love it! Suitably autumnal, colourful but not lairy and will go well with navy. Awesome! It gets my vote

Filthy Looter

At Kate's request, and with thanks to Photoshoplooter I bring you the pick of the looter look book.

Neither Here Nor There

OK, I'm in pain. So I'm just going to go ahead and be mean.

With the exception of Cher Lloyd (see below) I really think that Nicole Scherzinger is one of the most terribly styled singers. I mean, she is a pretty girl with an insanely hot body, how difficult should it be to make her look nice?

But the Right There video has really hit a new low. She looks awful. Whether it is the dead Navajo-swan look or the Ali Baba in knee high boots look.

Awful.

And she seems like a nice girl. Is it really necessary?

I reckon she's got a few jealous girls in her camp who are trying to make her look bad. What other reason can there be for these hideous outfits?

Cher and Cher Alike

Sadly my fall meant that I was laid up yesterday watching a lot of rubbish tv.

The most hideous of which was Cher Lloyd's Swagger Jagger video. Holy cats! It was like a car crash, I couldn't look away no matter how horrifying it was. It was an assault on my senses so hideous I fear I might never recover.

Even more disturbing than J-Lo's last feeble attacks on the pop charts. And I didn't think that was possible.

The outfits were awful, the song is shameful and her attitude is utterly deluded.

But the worst thing? Her enormous barnet and the body of a child. I couldn't get my head round it, and it upset me not a little. Let's not let this sort of lunacy continue.
