Titfer Tat

So I went hat shopping at The British Hatter in Bath on Saturday and I found myself a real treat from by Whiteley hats. It is quite similar to the one above (also by Whiteley). And once I had bought it I started thinking about what would work with it. And I thought how nice a white/cream suit would look.

Now I know why. I was aping the D of C. And she does look marvellous in it, but I don't want everyone to think that I am stealing her style. So what I think I will try and find is a floral dress that has some neutral tones in it instead.

What Kate Did

I imagine that this was something like the look on the D of C's face when a garish package of Kardashian Kollection for Dorothy Perkins landed on the door mat and was promptly sent back.

Ha! I couldn't imagine a less likely pairing.

But those girls ain't dumb because her rejection will probably get as much press as if she had (shudder) actually worn one of their skin tight monstrosities.

High Brow

Scan-daaaal! Kate Middleton... The D of C... sporting a Scouse brow? Oh the horror!

But before we all have kittens I don't think a strong brow and a scouse brow are exactly the same thing. Surely the Scouse brow has to be accompanied by the whole make up case and more than your fair share of silicone implant. And we can hardly accuse Kate of that. Perish the thought. Shudder!

I like the strong brow. And I bought this fabulous product called Brow Zings from Benefit. With my rookie touch though, I did start to resemble one of our ladies from the north.

But I'm sure with a little practise I will be able to look a little more high fashion.

Slim Pickings

Dude! If the D of C isn't thin enough then what hope do the rest of us have?

When I saw that Grazia had made her thinner on their cover I was a bit horrified.

(Via Daily Telegraph)

But after getting a sharp telling off by the Press Complaints Commission they said that her thinification was a purely accidental result of mirroring her other arm so that it looked as though she was alone, and not holding the hand of her beloved.

So that's a relief. (If we believe them.)

Mul(berry) it Over

I have to admit I have had better times. There is not much in my life to make me smile right now. So my main dilemma is whether to wallow or whether to attempt to make myself feel better by spending a stupid amount of money on a new item. Generally thinking shoes or bag. I am a girl, after all.

So in Harvey Nicks yesterday I spotted this Mulberry bag and my heart quivered ever so slightly.

But then the assistant said that it was the one that the D of C took to Canada and that made me pause. Well, that and the £870 price tag, let's be honest.

Everything else she has worn that was then in huge demand has been tainted by the association. Not that she looks bad, or the items aren't nice, but just that they are so massively in the public glare that you couldn't wear them without thinking of what she looked like in it, and looking as though you stole the idea from her and are a style stalker. And let's be honest, that visual comparison ain't gonna be favourable for me, in clothes at least.

The bag though seemed to garner less attention. And it is classic. I much prefer navy to black, it looks so much classier, and the brown across body strap is a nice touch that would look great over my camel and navy winter coats. I think I like it. What say you?

What Katie, Err, Wore

Wow, the world is going nuts for Kate, aren't they? There is even a website dedicated purely to her wardrobe.

I think she is worth all the fuss though. She hasn't put even a little toe wrong so far. Bravo, I say!

Particularly with the Maple leaf hat. What could have been a bit kitschy, naff and try hard is actually terribly elegant. She is truly marvellous.

My Old Duch(ess)

(Via Go Fug Yourself)

Oh for the love of God, is this not the creepiest thing you have ever seen in all your live long days?

Take it to the (Duchess of Cam)bridge

(Via Harper's Bazaar)

Dear HRH, the Duchess of Cambridge

Be a love and stop wearing things from Reiss. I would like to get on to their website again at some stage in the not too distant future. Thanks awfully.

Alright Duchess

(Via Grazia)

The Duchess of Cambridge met the Obamas at Buck House today in a Reiss dress. The Reiss website has crashed. Do you think these two things are connected?!

It seems that Kate will continue to be an inspiration to many (or their wardrobes at least).

I think she looks lovely in it, but I can't say I would want to wear something that had worn so publicly by someone else. Would you?
