Crazy Like a Fool

I can't believe you did that to our blog. Our sweet, innocent little blog. You posted a picture of the crazy frog. Yes, you did. I know. I could barely believe it either.

I am shocked. And appalled. You are of course quite right but that is really by the by.

Oh and P.S. the coat from Karen Millen was not for me. In red or black. So the search continues... I suspect this might be my version of your never ending perfect wedding outfit search so batten down the hatches...!

Top of the Pops

OK, here we go...

Yes it will.

It could work but, hmmm no maybe it won't. I'm not sure. I DON'T KNOW MY OWN MY MIND ANYMORE!!!! AGHHHHHHH!!!! NEXT!! !!!!'S x infinity.

Possibly, but a cuter and (much) less hirsute one. But those guys look well jolly so it could be fun to don red coats and mingle, who knows?

I prefer the black but I don't image that will surprise you. I think the lips will POP! (pop pop the fun don't stop) against the black.
And now to the boots. Yes her! Doesn't she look like:

Haha! But she does though! I'll wear them with leggings or jeggings or whatever we are calling tight pants these days and floaty dresses made from man made fibres. Huzzah!

Grist to the Mill(en)

I am sorry to post this poor destitute and shoeless mannequin again, I know it upsets you, but what do we think of the coat in red? I quite like the thought of colour. But will it be too much with my proposed red lip and nail combo? And what about the purple handbag? Overkill?

Will I look like a Chelsea Pensioner?

Put the Boot In

I don't know if it is the development of the Doc Marten that has been hanging around as a periphery trend, but I have been noticing quite a few girl's in a tough boot as people are experimenting with the first few A/W trends. And I am totally into it.

As long as it is done in a feminine way, otherwise it is a bit scary and reminiscent of the lead singer of Four Non Blondes. You know who I mean... the one who used to wear goggles on her head and some sort of hideous hat. You know...

...her. Yeah, I agree, not cool.
I have to say I'm all for it. I am even thinking of some bad girl boot action for myself. An ankle boot, with metal studs perhaps... There's a good pair in Russell & Bromley but they are crazy expensive, so I won't be buying them.

But anyway, back to you... I don't think you would look remotely insane stomping around in them, just cute and possibly slightly smug as your tootsies will be warm and dry and comfortable!

I was always confused why Kimberley never received more attention. She's a cutie. The Head is clearly a man of taste. Although that obviously goes without saying!

Plus her bottom looks really great. Like a nice round juicy disco peach!

On to the skirt. I love it! And honestly it is so perfect for you that I am surprised you are even asking my opinion and not just rocking up in it tomorrow for our attempt to wow Jerry Hall with our inate and mind-blowing style and coolness. Please buy it. I think it is just darling.

Thinking Aloud

The Head LOVES Kimberly Girl's Aloud. Seriously. L.O.V.E.S. her. I think it is her hip to waist ratio that he enjoys the most although he has proved herself prone to Northern ladies' charms. Anyway, I think he will enjoy 'Goth Glitterball Kimberly' being splashed all over the papers today as the face of New Look. As do I actually. I am fond of all the Girls Alouds apart from Nadine. I don't dislike her, I just feel like I have have warmed to her the least. And you know, she spends a lot of time in LA now and...I just don't feel like she's giving it her all. I wonder what the other GA's think about it?

But, where were we? So yes, Kimberley's bottom looks nice in that doesn't it? I had a look at what else New Look would like to sell us and I saw this:

You know how much I love my black sequin mini...is this too much? With a t-shirt. And a flat?

Furgeddaboudit

Weren't we gonna talk about the a/w collections yesterday?

Shall we do it tomorrow instead?

I really want to discuss these.

Keep It Under Your Hat

You know why it has got cold don't you? Because me and The Head are taking our two week holiday in Engerland rather than jetting off to cook ourselves on a Greek beach that's why. I'll be packing my winter holiday hat (the waxed Gallagher-esque pork pie one) as opposed to the panama now won't I? I won't grow a monobrow and adopt a monkey like swagger to match, don't worry. Or wear mine with a suit. (Horrors!) Bugger it though. That panama hasn't seen nearly as much action as I had anticipated.

Shall we discuss the boots then? I think I am keener on the workmany ones than the others although I'm not sure that stomping about the place in those won't make me look...I don't know...a bit...mental? What do you think? On a practical level they will be good in the cold and no doubt wet London winter and they will transfer well to my visits up North my parent's country pile.*

And now to you. I like that coat for you. I think you could work a funnel neck nicely specifically because of the short hair. You don't want to get bound up with your hair int he funnel and then half out of the funnel etc. You'll look nice and crisp. And warm.
I wish that Karen Millen's website people had put a shoe on that mannequin. She has a BAG for heavens sake. And an opaque. Why not a simple pump? This kind of thing really bothers me. I know, I know I shouldn't let it but I do.

* I say pile, I mean two up two down cottage with kitchen diner and expansive rural views to the rear.

Run of the Mill(en)

OK, I know I have already been bleating on about coats, but dude, do you feel how cold it is out there? Sheesh, I had hopes for an Indian summer. September is often the reward for having a rubbish summer, but two days in and things are not looking good. Gah!

So the winter coat discussion is becoming quite urgent, I feel.

I want one that is fitted, and full skirted. Surely it must be possible to be warm and have shape, no? Ideally it would be navy, although really, any colour as long as it goes with my new purple handibag. Even camel might be considered. Maybe. Does go terribly well with purple...

What are your thoughts on this one? It is the first that I have seen that fits the shape criteria. Not sure about the buttons and the high neck, though. I might need to go and see it in the wool.

Show Your Mettle

Hey, cool! Maybe you could get a totally metal hand like Beyonce! Awesome!

Heavy Metal

What's that Lilly? Oh! Lucky you! You have a metallised nail! 10 of them! Bravo to you. I am interested in these metallised nails. I would like to try myself akshully.

The Missing Link(s)

Ice T reminds me of my uncle. No shizz! There is a very definite resemblance. And my Uncle is also a bad ass. He is missing half a finger. I forget how he lost it - he is a man of many stories - but one of his favourite 'niece riling' things to do is to stick the dodgy finger up his nozzle, pretend to get it stuck and then pull it out whilst yelling that that he has the other half of his finger still up his nostril. Ta da! He is a real pleasure around the dining table. My Aunt does not resemble Coco in any way, shape or form.

We are fans of NWA in our house. In fact we listened to Straight Outta Compton on the way to a wedding recently. Nothing like a bit of gangsta rap to get you in the mood for a friends nuptials. The Head and his friend B (out of BK, you know the ones that got married earlier this year) know every single word to every single track on that album. It really got us in the mood for a bit of romantic church based action.

And now you like NW3. I even have a link to NW3! I lived there man. For real! I did not notice a Hobbs in the entire time I was there but if they say they started off there who am I to question? I am so pleased you had a lovely shopping blow out, full of joy! And that you will be working English Heritage this AW. I like it a lot. Shall we join the national trust?
Did you ever dare imagine that your post would be so, so relevant to me on so many levels. Did you?

Straight Outta... Hampstead???

Gosh, you don't want to do that. Mix up NW3 with NWA. Look how mean Mr. Cube looks. I couldn't resist!

It is the slightly more sedate, but no less exciting subject of the new label from Hobbs that I want to discuss, however. NW3 - named for the Hampstead postcode where Hobbs started their shiznit, it is the new, funkier side of Hobbs. And I LOVE IT!!

Actually, more than that. I almost started hyperventilating when I went into the shop, such was my excitement.
I would say that it is English heritage with an edge. I went nuts. Kate, who I was shopping with said I developed a cold steely look in my eye that meant that I was going to shop, and no one, but no one, was going to stop me.

I spent more than my rent for a month. A mustard yellow riding jacket with brown elbow patches. A yellow paisley scarf. (Both above). The paisley dress below. A brown and gold belt. A charcoal grey hat that is the love child of a cloche and a peaked cap. And a purple handbag.
No, I am not joking. See. I told you. NUTS!!!

(Images via Hobbs)

And the people in the shop were super friendly and helpful and excited about the new collection. It was the best shopping experience I have had in a while. And I want to go back. Just maybe not quite yet. Better pay this credit card bill off first... don't you think?

Puff Piece

Seriously. When did a puffa become fit for the cover of a high end fashion rag? They are clearly only for schlepping around Walford or for keeping warm on mountain climbs. THAT'S IT!

And honestly, the less said about Kate Moss the better. I thought about posting one of those pictures doing the rounds at the mo where she looks as rough as old boots, but I decided to rise above it instead. I do wish she would just scarper, though.

Or actually, with her new cheeky cock-er-nee chimney sweep garb maybe she could go to Albert Square and have a bitch fight with Bianca. You know, lots of pulling hair and snarling. That would definitely be a ratings booster. Innniiiiiiiiitt!!!

V Bad

Linda looks...weird (but warm) and Kate looks like a sad artful dodger. How terribly fashion forward!
