Be My Valentino

Talking of Valentino, the autumn winter 2013 collection is so insanely divine I could faint clean away.

It is not remotely what I would expect from Valentino. It is so pared back and quite frankly it takes my breath away. So very much in love.

Tell Me About It, Stud

There are certain shoes that it takes you a while to know how you feel about them. You kind of like them but they don't totally make sense. The Valentino studded shoes are such a pair. They are fairly prim but then they are covered in studs. Whaaaaat? Prissy and sexy in one pair of shoes? Brain. Does. Not. Compute.

I didn't imagine that would really be a problem as I assumed they were a passing fad. The studded shoe trend pretty much reached saturation point some time ago. But they are definitely still knocking around. I also think the heeled version is much more wearable.

Now I don't have a spare £600 to buy them but Russell & Bromley have been inspired and I think they are pretty wicked and marginally more affordable. Which is nice.

Sword and Sandals

It is December. It is cold and wet. So what do I want to put on my feet? Wellington boots? No. Uggs? Oh hell no!

No, I want sandals.

Yup, you heard me right. Sandals. I know it's crazy. I know that.

There is nothing that makes the foot look better than a sandal to my mind. It is very seductive to reveal the foot in that way. And here are some of my current favourties.

Why is it that something that is totally inappropriate is so much more desirable and what does it say about me?

Well(ington) Heeled

(Net a Porter)

The idea of Wellington boots seems incredibly appealing at the moment seeing as I seem to get washed away every time I leave the house.

And this Valentino lace-look pair are impossibly pretty. But are they just too frivolous?

Well, durr, stupid question, I guess. Designer Wellingtons are never going to be a must-have, can't live without item, are they?

Doesn't make me want them any less though. And just think how lovely and dry my feet would be.
