Pull Yourself up by the Bootstraps

Kate came to visit me in Bath last weekend and bought these shoes. They are pretty darn sexy. They really make the most of the foot. The strapping somehow makes the foot look positively indecent.

She also has these.

I think she might be on to something.

Flat Out

(Image via Office)

Don't worry about the penny loafers if you are forming an opinion. (Unless obviously you want to berate me, in which case I would only be happy to be put right by you in your own inimitable way.) I bought these little treats instead. There is toe cleavage a go-go. Saucy!

An Office(r) and a Gentleman

So, the saga continues. I expect you have been on the very edge of your seat since I last posted. Will she get her glads? Which will she go for? I MUST KNOW!!!! Well, I can relieve all your angst. I went to KG to buy the silver ones only to be told they had sold out and that the couldn't possibly check if any of their other shops had it in stock. So I nipped into Office instead.

I have a chequered past with Office. Their service is often hideous. And more recently all their shoes have been gross. But pop in there I did. And I thought the ones above were quite a good substitute. What say you? I purchased them, but I'm not quite sure...

What I am sure about is this pair:

They look considerably cuter on than in the pic, but aren't they lovely? I am wearing them with the white jean, and I am really quite content with the outcome, even though I probably do look overly summery for a slightly overcast, blustery day. But what the hell? In for a penny!
And the service in Office was amazing, so that made me very happy.

Aciiiiiid!

Ooooh! What a nice shoe! Well akshully it's not at all nice is it? It's nasty. NASTY SHOE! Don't wear it with this get up from Alexander Wang come Autumn/Winter though will you, or you'll look like some kind of kinky super hero. I say that as though it's a bad thing. It isn't necessarily but it might be Too Much for the office, you get me?

Oddly enough, whilst you're planning for the time when you can whip out the opaques with certainty again I am getting more and more excitable about the upcoming sunnier months. Perhaps I am being overly optimistic. Summer weeks is perhaps more realistic. (I am going to make sure I cram a whole lotta look in to those weeks sweetcheeks, let me tell you.) I am especially enamoured of things in this colour at the moment:

It doesn't really matter so much what the thing is, as long as it's this slightly acidy yellow. The fact that were I to wear that colour I would look like a nicely dressed cadaver is beside the point. In my mind I would look AMAYZINGALINGA!

All hands on deck

(Images via office.co.uk)

I find these rather whimsical. I know I should hate them but they put into my mind the jollity of sailing and pints of lemonade and lime at the lakeside club house. I might draw the line at buying them but I am definitely considering it. Lazily, perhaps, but considering nonetheless.

Except Office have taken it upon themselves to give them a name. I would have thought DECK SHOE might have just about covered it for identification purposes. However, that would apparently be far too pedestian for Office. So in their infinite wisdom they have called them Trent Darby. Trent Darby?? As in Terence? Does this shoe call into mind the soulful beplaited one in any way? No. I didn't think so. I can't imagine he would be that chuffed about it either.

Narcissistic Heel?

Here is a shoe. I'm not sure what to make of it. I thought it was mega cute on first glance but then I looked again and now I'm confused. These shoes with little snub noses bother me a bit. They remind me of me you see. They seem even more snubby because of the the heel height. Do they look weird to you?

The nudeyness, the potential for a nice bit toe cleavage and the workable heel height are plusses. But when you already have a little snub nose on your face it's best not to echo that in your footwear. Yes? But then they're cute aren't they? But are they? Man alive! I just don't know. It has oft been said that The Head and I are bear an uncanny resemblance to one another. And it's one thing being such a narcissist that you select a Head to marry that looks like you but surely one should draw the line at a mirror image mid-height court?

Whilst on the website I also found this. Now you know me, I'm all for a vertiginous platform...do you recall those bloody shoes I bought at Aldo* that had to go back the same day when we realised I looked like Bambi** taking his first tentative steps in them? Aye chihuahua! But seriously, aren't things getting a little out of control now? When a shoe has it's on rocking mechanism built in to the sole so that you can sort of, propel yourself forward, that just not cute.
* I do wish the Aldo people had thought more before naming that brand. It is so reminiscent of soemthing cut price and supermaket it doesn't doesn't seem at all rihgt.
** Bambi was a boy, ja?
