Bob's Your Uncle

I cut my hair into a bob a few weeks ago. I love it, but I think I would love it even more if I copied Karlie Kloss's take on it. Loving the fringe, it somehow manages to look grown up and youthful at the same time.

Short Back and Sides

I'm not wild about Miley Cyrus, but I am seriously wild about her hair. Love, love, love it.  Partly, it has to be said, because it is basically the same as my haircut. I think she looks bitchin'.

Yes Siree Bob

So, my 20s obsession continues. Just looking at Louise Brooks here makes me swoon. It is such an iconic look. I am thinking about growing my hair out and that can be a painful experience at the best of times.

So the natural progression has to be the bob. I think it would be cute, don't you?

I couldn't carry off the blunt fringe, but either a sweeping fringe or something like Miss Knightley's and I'll be very pleased.

New year's resolution number 1:

Get a bitchin' hair cut.

A Cut Above

What sort of evil hold does America's Next Top Model have over me? I seem incapable of seeing in on the schedule without watching it.

And last night I really could have done with going to sleep instead, but it was a double bill of the final two episodes, so I couldn't say no.

And if for nothing else I am glad I did for this haircut.

The winner, Brittani, had a Natalie Portman in Leon/Clara Bow style 20s fringed bob for the whole series but then had it cropped for the final panel and it made me swoon. This truly is the greatest haircut in my mind. And if I was less of a moon face I would always like to have mine cut like that.

And I love the colour. I don't think that I would go quite as dark, but it does make me think about going a slightly darker brown. Then add in the pink satin and the red pout and honestly, I could die.

Heaven.

Bob's Your Uncle

After 13 years in London I finally found a hairdresser that I was happy with in the final year. And now I have left. I am slightly distraught to be without her. Particularly as I have a cut that needs pretty regular up keep.

So I was wondering what alternative I could have and came across these pictures of Agyness Deyn. Doesn't she look lovely? So soft, and feminine. I think this cut could really work for me. I just have to go through the painful growing out phase. Gah!

Doesn't Keira look lovely with her new do? It is making me wonder if I should grow mine out into a bob. Although I do have a love/hate relationship with the bob. It can be incredibly elegant and chic, worn by women who are effortless and comfortable in their own skin. But I feel as though it is the haircut that I will inevitably end up with when I am "a woman of a certain age" as the not so proud owner of very straight, fine hair. My mother has been rocking the bob for many years and looks terribly elegant with it, but I like to rebel against being told what to do, particularly if the one telling me is my hair. You know?


Ms Knightley might well have given me a little renewed enthusiasm for it though.



Plus she looked delightful at the London premiere of Never Let Me Go. Although does that dress look like it was made out of a deconstructed Chanel suit. No bad thing, mind. Just an observation.

Elementary My Dear Watson

Far more so than with your Louis Vuitton corset that everyone was crowing about at Glastonbury, you have won me over with your adorable, gamine crop, Miss Watson. I love it utterly and unreservedly.

Ours is Not to Wonder Why

I've always really loved the imagery and illustrations from Alice in Wonderland and I adore Tim B, so the combination excites me quite a lot.



But I can't say I have ever looked to Miss. In Wonderland for fashion inspiration.



Admittedly she is utterly adorable. And as a slightly more mature slip of a thing in the film than in the book it isn't quite as paedo chic as copying the style of an actual child, but I still can't say that I really get it.

But I have seen a number of articles and blogs suggesting ways to recreate the look.



Call me cynical, but isn't that just what is known as cashing in? I mean, unless you were some delightful Japanese girl rocking an extreme look in Tokyo, who would actually want to dress like that?



On another note... isn't Miss. Wasikowska's hair beyond perfect? Hmmm, maybe I need a trim...
