Due South

Eeek! I am off to South Africa this weekend for the lovely Amelia and Harry's wedding. I have been happily shopping away in preparation and now I need just one thing.

A bag. I want it to be cheap and cheerful that I can sling over my shoulder and not worry about too much. I also want it to have a zip so I don't have to worry about the contents. So just a simple tote won't quite do.

I have found this selection that I would be happy with, but the Bath branches don't stock any of them. Ack. What's a girl to do?

In the Bag

Oh my gosh! I want this Anya Hindmarch so badly I could faint clean away. Could someone be a love and just treat me?

Thanks awfully.

Totes!

I am currently swooning over extremely plain tote bags. I just love the idea of something so unassuming and elegant in the face of all the bells and whistles and hardware evident on so many  bags.

These are bags that are just too assured in their own good looks that they don't have to yell it from the rooftops. Well, ok, maybe this red one is getting a little raucus but the others are awfully reserved and refined.
A pair of peg trousers, a plimsoll, a blazer and a slouchy t... with one of these slung over my shoulder.... Ahhh! Perfection.

It's the Bomb!

(Via This Isn't Happiness)

Ha, ha, ha! I don't think this bag would go down very well at the farmer's market or on the tube, but maybe quite well in Hackney.

Tote(m) Pole

(Via Karen Millen)

I am quite interested in a tote as an alternative shape of bag for spring/summer. But do totes invariably mean that you can never actually find anything? The combination of depth and a slimness tend to find me in the street up to my ruddy armpits, scrabbling around to find my purse, Oyster card, lip balm etc.

So actually, strike that, I think I've worked it out for myself...
