Well Armed

 3.1 Philip Lim

Is anyone else intrigued by the sleeveless jacket/coat mini trend? I wouldn't want to flash my arms necessarily but with a fine knit underneath I think it could be quite appealing. I bought a vastly discounted short-sleeved Cerruti trench a few years ago which I adore, and it has definitely opened my mind to a slightly unconventional coat shape.

And you know me, I like something new.

In Full Bloom

 Emilia Wickstead

Winter florals are going to be a big trend for autumn winter and I am very much liking the look of them.

Here are some of the best on the catwalks. And Ted Baker are the first to make the break on the high street. Yum!

Oh Emma Stone, you are so truly marvellous in your red Lanvin. Now I know I need to get me a pair of red pointy courts asap.

Autumn/Winter - Lanvin

In tribute to my lovely friend and Lanvin aficionado, the newly engaged Annie K, I bring you the autum/winter collection.

Congratulations to you!

And I am dying to see what you will wear on the big day! Possibly a little treat from Monsier Elbaz...?! Eek!

Put Your Hands Together

I have been very scathing in the past of collaborations. Particularly the H&M ones. But I am willing to take it all back because I have just seen the Lanvin collaboration. And there are some beautiful things.

It is going to be the most almighty bun fight when it gets launched. I envisage hair pulling and sharp elbows.

Because finally a collaboration has produced some truly desirable clothes. I just wonder whether they are let down by cheap fabrics as is often the case.

I think I am willing to get involved in the crush though, if only this dress could be mine. Isn't it delightful?

Wish me luck!

Seasonal Affective Disorder

(Via Style)

Do you know what I hate?

People walking very slowly in front of you!

Well, yes, but what I meant was...

People who eat loudly!

Again, correct, but...

People who nearly plough into you because they are looking at a small screen in their hand!

Well, obviously, of course I hate them, but this is a fashion blog and this therefore has something to do with fashion...

People who can't walk in heels!

OK, very funny, but enough's enough...

People who wear leggings in place of trousers!

OK, I admit it, there are quite a few things I hate. But what is occuring to me right this second that I hate is when slebs start wearing things straight off the catwalk.

OK, so maybe it doesn't come up there with genocide and Bono in terms of utter hatefulness, but it still rankles.

And for these reasons:

It reminds me that I don't get invited to fashion shows.

It is totally seasonally maladjusted. Let's enjoy wool, shall we? Before we have to start having a dalliance with chiffon.

It is just a bit show-offy, isn't it? Look what I've got 6 months before it is available in the shops.

I just want another reason to be angry, clearly.

Miss Blake Lively, however, might have cured me off my wrath. Coz she just looks so very, very pretty in her very, very pretty Lanvin dress.

Now, what else can I be annoyed about instead...?

Cut Copy

(Via LK Bennett)

LK Bennett have a shoe that closely resembles the Lanvins that I covet. But at nearly 300 smackers I would probably rather save up for the real thing. Wouldn't you agree?

Miss Motivator

In these bleak economic times a girl needs a little motivation to get through the darker days, wouldn't you agree? A little something to bring a tiny ray of light into a girl's heart while she is schlepping around deep in the gloom resulting from the total annihilation of capitalism as we know it. Something that will help her realise that frugality and austerity are just passing phases and that she will live to see another day when unruly and ill considered spending will once again be the order of the day.

I am a hearty believer in the carrot rather than the stick. And what a carrot I have chosen for myself, I think you will be proud. I have decided that at the point at which I emerge, cleansed and reborn, into a world of renewed spendthriftiness, unscathed and unbowed, that I will treat myself to a pair of Lanvin shoes.

Aren't I clever?! Now I just have to batten down the hatches and concentrate on riding out the storm . Right. Um...
