Over the Top

 Comptoir des Cotonniers

It is coming up to Christmas party season, which I love because it is a rare occasion for me to get dressed up.

But to break the habit of a lifetime I think I will forgo the frocks and rock my cigarette pants, pointed black heels and a fabulous top, and possibly my off white Comptoir blazer.

Basically I want to pretend that I am Emmanuelle Alt.

Swap Shop

OK, so the Warehouse top has to go back. But like the idiot I am I forgot to check what the return period was and it's 14 days, not a month. Gah! I hate that shops do that. It is second only to shops that don't offer a refund in terms of things that irritate me about shopping.

So anyway, I have to exchange rather than refund. Here are some of the tops that are tickling my fancy.

Are any of them cute?

I am enjoying a sleeve and nothing too fitted for work at the moment.

So these fit the bill. But are they equally dull?

Midnight at the Oasis

Wahay! I have broken the Oasis curse. Was desperately looking for suitable work tops but not desperate enough to go into Banana Republic (yawnsville). So I ventured in with terribly low expectations, but out I skipped with three lovely and perfectly respectable work tops.

I know I shouldn't say such things, because it is practically sacrilegeous, but there is really something to be said (particularly in these cooler months) for having a work outfit you can bung on and look reputable without trying too hard. Wouldn't you agree?
