Tan Your Hide

 Balmain

I love a girl who can rock a black leather jacket. A colleague of mine looks fierce in one with black skinny jeans. I am quite envious because I fear it is a look I can't carry off. But this season there is way more colourful leather and the more femme-y look might be something I could play with. Toughening up midi skirts and pastel floral dresses. Yes please.

If I had a spare 3 grand knocking around I would be all over the blue Balmain beauty. But I don't.

So the search is on to find the perfect leather jacket that won't blow the budget. I'm excited.

On Your Bike

Acne

I used to want to ride a motorbike. But that didn't happen.

And then I wanted to ride on the back of a motorbike. But that doesn't look as though it will happen.

So maybe I'll just settle for a leather biker jacket. Particuarly if it was  'settling' for one of these little beauties.

Hell for Leather

Hmmm, inspiration can sometimes come from mysterious places. I wouldn't, for example, look to the residents of TOWIE for sartorial know how, unless, you know, I wanted advice on getting my baps out. But I like what Sam Faiers is working with the floaty skirt and the cropped leather jacket.

I think I would probably rather go for a paler, prettier colour. But I really like the idea of wearing a leather jacket with a dress or skirt like that.

I particularly like these two pink and cream ones.

Worn open but fitted at the waist over a smart dress and heels could look really cute.

What do you think? Could I carry it off? My look is definitely more pretty and feminine, but I quite like the idea of toughening things up like this.

I might have set myself a little challenge...!

Jack and Gilet

(Via River Island)

I am far, far too suggestible. I only have to watch something or think of something and I want it.

So on having mentioned a leather jacket I want one really, really badly.

But I have very specific ideas about the perfect leather jacket.

It needs to be very fitted. Not too bikery or boxy. No buckles.

And of course the nicest ones are hideously expensive.

But they aren't that warm, are they? So I think the only solution would be to wear it with a fur gilet. A look that I have slowly been coming round to over the last couple of years.

I'd probably prefer a grey or black one, but you get the idea.
