Early Doors

(Image via Net a Porter)

I know that it is really too early to be thinking about autumn winter, and that I will be sure to change my mind before the time comes, but this Donna Karan ensemble feels like a good place to start dreaming about what I'll be wearing come the end of the year. Except, you know, cheaper.

She's The Don(na)

My friend Annie and I were discussing Donna Karan the other day.

And we decided that while lovely, it was a label more suited to the maturer lady.

There is no denying that she makes very elegant clothes, that need a certain amount of grace and poise.

These are not clothes for tearing around in.

They are clothes for being a grown-up in.

Going to grown-up meetings, and grown-up dinners, and back to your grown-up, delightfully decorated pied a terre.

The good news is that it gives me something to look forward to in getting older.

Shake a leg

(Via Selfridges)

On another Donna Karan note...

These leggings? Aaarrrrggghhhhh!!! They are so amazing I want to pass clean away! I just need to be about a foot taller and a few dress sizes smaller and add a coupla figures to my salary and then they would be perfect for me...

Too much to ask?!

Donna Karan Autumn/Winter 2009

(Images via Style.com)
One of my favourite catwalk shows was by Donna Karan. It surprises me as I have always felt her clothes were a bit MOR. Maybe it is just a sign of my burgeoning maturity but I love this collection. The draping, the belted waists, the demureness, the cherry red. It gets me pretty excited.
Not entirely sure about the furry arm warmers, but I can let them slide.
