Cheap Date

I should be forced to wear this t-shirt. Broke but still shopping - that's me. My one saving grace is that I haven't actually been buying anything, just looking. But my unemployed status means that I am really only looking at the cheaper end of the high street.

Gone, for now, are my Comptoir, NW3, Jigsaw, Reiss, Toast days and instead I will be moving back into a thriftier age.

I'm not wildly unhappy though because I have found some lovely things in Dorothy Perkins and Marks & Spencer, which makes me happy.

Cheap Date

I am currently unemployed. So generally speaking my shopping days are on hiatus. And very definitely any shopping in any but the most reasonably priced shops.
Thank goodness for Marks & Spencer flats which are super cute.
They will keep my happy in hopefully the short interim before I am back in gainful employment.

Top Marks

I am trying to save my pennies at the moment, but of course I still want to shop. So what's the solution?

The cheaper shops that I used to patronise just seem way to young and trendy for me, old trollop that I am.

But what's this? Marks and Spencer you say? A Peter Pilotto-a-like geometric patterned dress and adorable patterned and bow-bedecked pumps?

Fabulous, no? I might just have found the answer.

Cheap Thrill

I want a new handbag. But I don't want to spend 300 knicker on one right now. I'm about to be unemployed. It really doesn't make any sense.

But I want one all the same. And the places I have been tending to shop recently don't have reasonably priced bags. They are (for me) investment prices.

And often cheap bags look really super cheap. Like trashy cheap.

So I was surprised by how many bags at River Island tickled my fancy. And the most expensive is £65.

So unless, of course, they look hideously cheap up close (of which there is an enormous risk) I think they look quite exciting.

And I could slake my new bag lust without breaking the bank.

Or at least breaking it only very slightly.

You know, like a crack.

An almost imperceptible crack.

That even my bank manager might bearly notice. That's possible, right?

On the House

I don't know how much of a geek this makes me, but Senate House was one of my favourite things about my uni days. I just couldn't believe my luck that I spent time (probably not enough time, admittedly) in such an incredible building. Just look at it, isn't it enough to make you swoon?

So I have been slightly jealous to see people with this bag slung casually over their shoulders. But now I have discovered that they are practically giving them away. Only two of my British pounds. Bargain! I must have one immediately.
