This young lady is Florence Claridge. By all accounts she is an Ascot instituition with her fabulous hats. Beyond that I don't know too much about her, but I do know that she is quite marvellous.

After all these scrubbers have been seen at Ascot falling out of their dresses and Jimmy Choos and recklessly flaunting fascinators the organisers of Ascot have come up with stricter rules as to what is acceptable. Most of them are directed at women, which I find a bit galling. But I will forgive them for this beautiful photo shoot that they put together to illustrate the rules.

Seriously classy.
