Too Much to Sandal

 Ancient Greek Sandals

It's probably not a surprise to you that it's cold out. And it's only going to get colder. I don't mean to bring you down, I'm just being realistic. Winter only officially starts tomorrow. There are many more months ahead of thick tights and boots (which I am very fetchingly accessorising with a ropey old bandage around my ankle having sprained the damned thing).

So what is the last thing that I should be fantasising about?

And what is the absolute thing I am fantasising about?

That's right. The sandal.

And quite frankly the skimpier the better. I want to flash some skin, and lots of it. On my feet at least, the rest of me is more than happy to be swaddled in voluminous knits.

My colleague is going to the Caribbean for Christmas and I am having some serious envy about my utter lack of opportunities to get my hoofs out without the threat of frostbite. I might wack up the heating, hose my legs down with some St Tropez, shimmy around in some sandals and to hell with it.

Failing that I will slaver over these delights. Sigh!

Would you Adams and Eve it?

I like Amy Adams. She seems sweet. She was unexpectedly sexy in The Fighter, but in real life she always seemed quite demure. Then POW! at the Her premiere earlier this year something happened and that something was sexy!

Lordy, I wasn't expecting that. Or more to the point, I wasn't expecting those.

Don't get me wrong, I think she looks incredible, but it's just not what we are used to.

On seeing the publicity shots for American Hustle though it is all starting to make a bit more sense.

Lady got used to getting them out.

Ooh, I'm super excited about seeing this film now. I don't really have an opinion yet about the content but it surely does look good. Seventies revival anyone? I'm in!

Blushed to My Roots

It happened! I saw my first pink coat in real life today. Despite all the exclamations of the fashion editors (and me) the pink coat has not been the unavoidable trend that I feared it might be. I thought that every second person would be flouncing in fuchsia or romping in rose and that it would be such an obvious trend it would be somewhat embarrasing to be one of the herd.

I rather question my reserve now, because the lady I saw looked unspeakably elegant.

To make up for it here are some of my favourite pink items, and I will endeavour now to bring a flush to my winter wardrobe.
